Ronald Mayinja Ham Kiggundu Song Honors Tycoon’s Achievements

Ugandan artist Ronald Mayinja has released a new single titled “Ham Kiggundu.” The track celebrates city tycoon Hamis Kiggundu, widely known as Ham, and his extraordinary rise in business and leadership.

The Ham Group of Companies submitted the song to Block FM 103.2 for its debut. In clear detail, Mayinja narrates Kiggundu’s journey from humble beginnings to his bold redevelopment of Nakivubo Stadium. The lyrics describe the project as “transformative,” showing how it changed Kampala’s sports and entertainment landscape.

Kiggundu’s life reflects determination and vision. He was born in 1984 in Kalungu, Masaka District, to property investor Haruna Ssegawa. After completing his studies at Kabojja International School, he joined Makerere University and earned a law degree. Over time, he built the Ham Group of Companies, authored two books, and expanded his investments into real estate, publishing, and sports infrastructure.

By May 2025, he ranked among Uganda’s wealthiest entrepreneurs with a net worth of $601.9 million. His work continues to influence the country’s economy, while his projects reshape Kampala’s image as a modern African capital.

The release of the Ronald Mayinja Ham Kiggundu song sparked industry debate. For instance, Block FM owner Nyanzi Martin Luther urged the government to strengthen copyright laws that protect artists. Likewise, Eddy Kenzo, president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, emphasized fair pay and respect for intellectual property rights.

Beyond praise, Mayinja’s track reflects a new cultural shift. Increasingly, entrepreneurs and musicians are working together to tell stories that combine creativity with economic progress. These collaborations not only inspire pride but also highlight Uganda’s evolving identity.

Ultimately, the launch of “Ham Kiggundu” marks more than just a music release. It represents a cultural milestone where art, business, and leadership intersect. Through his song, Ronald Mayinja honors Hamis Kiggundu’s achievements while underlining the powerful role of music in shaping Uganda’s future.
