Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner General Doris Akol earlier today Friday unveiled new changes in the tax body’s top administration.
In the latest changes, which were sanctioned by the URA Board of Directors, Dickens Kateshumbwa, who has been the Commissioner Customs — will now be heading Domestic Taxes.
Kateshumbwa’s old position is now being taken over by Abel Kagumire who has been Commissioner Customs Audit.
Kagumire will, however, be serving in the Acting position as head of Customs.
Herbert Rusoke, who has been the Commissioner Corporate Services — will replace Pritazio Begumisa as Commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance.
Patrick Mukiibi, who has been heading tax investigations — will take over Rusoke’s post as Commissioner Corporate Services.
In changes that did not leave out Henry Saka, who has been heading Domestic taxes — is being moved to Tax Investigations.
In an internal memo shared to our news desk Doris Akol says the changes are in line with the Leadership Rotational Framework which was approved by the board in 2015.
URA spokesperson Vincent Seruma confirmed these changes during phone interview.
“It is not serious; these for us are normal changes,” he said.
