Kampala, Uganda| The ministry of health has confirmed 33 new coronavirus cases in Uganda, saying the total is now 127,584.
It said on Friday that the tests it conducted on December 1 confirmed these cases out of the 4, 392 samples collected that day.
While breaking down the new cases, the ministry said Wakiso has 11, Kampala six and Luwero five.
Amuru has two, while the districts of Tororo, Moyo, Kalak, Kabale, Mbale, Gulu, Bunyangabo, Kabarole and Napak have one new case each.
The ministry reported one more COVID-19 death after a week without recording any. The total of COVID-19 deaths are now 3,253.
The ministry said that those who had recovered from COVID-19 are 97, 579 and that a total of 6, 793,643 vaccine doses had been administered in the country.
In his national addresses recently, President Yoweri Museveni said that by the end of December 2021, more than 12 million Ugandans should have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
He noted that by the end of December, Uganda will have received 23 million doses of vaccines and that he will fully open up the country in January next year whether people go for vaccination or not
