Former Police Boss Asan Kasingye Elected President of Rotary Club of Entebbe
Asan Kasingye Rotary Club Entebbe leadership is set to begin a new chapter following the election of the retired police chief as president of the prestigious service organization. The Rotary Club of Entebbe confirmed his appointment through an official announcement on its X (formerly Twitter) account.
“We are proud to announce our President Elect for the coming Rotary year—Asan Kasingye, a humble leader ready to carry forward our mission,” the statement read.
Kasingye, a household name in Uganda for his decades-long service in the Uganda Police Force, will officially take office on June 8, 2025, during an installation ceremony at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe.
Born in Sheema District, Kasingye’s 34-year policing career saw him serve in top roles including Director of Interpol, Police Spokesperson, and Chief Political Commissar. He retired in September 2022.
Outside the force, he is known for his active presence on social media, where he is fondly referred to as the “President of Ugandans on Twitter.” He also runs Tayari Security Company, a private firm based in Kampala.
His election as Rotary President signals continued dedication to public service and civic engagement. During his tenure, Kasingye is expected to focus on expanding the club’s footprint in community development, especially in health, education, and environmental conservation.
“Kasingye’s leadership style and deep community roots make him an ideal candidate to elevate Rotary’s impact in Entebbe and beyond,” said a club member.
The Rotary Club of Entebbe, part of the global Rotary International network, champions humanitarian service, ethical leadership, and social upliftment. With Kasingye at the helm, stakeholders anticipate renewed energy and wider outreach in the club’s initiatives.
As the club prepares for his installation, residents and Rotarians alike are hopeful that his dynamic leadership will bring fresh momentum to service delivery across the region.
