The army has withdrawn security guards from Retired Gen Henry Tumukunde’s home in Kololo, according to reports.
The Uganda Times has learnt that the guards were withdrawn over the weekend, but sources say Tumukunde was not at home by the time this happened.
The reason for this is not known but those that are in the know link the withdrawal to Tumukunde’s presidential ambitions come 2021.
Tumukunde has been keeping a low profile ever since he was sacked from the position of security minister.
The army is yet to release a statement on the issue.
