Uganda Airlines has been chosen as the host for the 55th African Airlines Association (AFRAA) Annual General Assembly (AGA), scheduled to take place from November 19th to 21st, 2023. The prestigious event will be held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo and was officially announced during a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uganda, Hon. Gen. She described the event as not just an ordinary General Assembly but one that will be engaging and insightful, providing valuable industry insights and addressing critical issues.
Bamuturaki highlighted the importance of discussions on topics such as creating safer spaces for women in aviation, fostering optimism for youth in the industry, and promoting sustainability. She also emphasized the assembly’s significance in bringing together stakeholders from various sectors, including tourism, regulation, and taxation, that have an impact on the aviation industry.
The AGA will witness the participation of Chairs and CEOs from African airlines, as well as influential decision-makers from organizations such as ICAO, IATA, AFCAC, civil aviation authorities, airport companies, air navigation services providers, aircraft and engine manufacturers, component suppliers, and other service providers. The assembly will focus on the development of air transport in Africa, particularly exploring opportunities for African airlines. Alongside the AGA proceedings, there will be an exhibition showcasing the latest products, solutions, and technologies in the aviation industry.
