Buganda Kingdom has offered a generous contribution of UGX 114 million towards the upcoming royal wedding of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope and Inhebantu (Queen) Jovia Mutesi. This symbolic gesture reinforces the spirit of unity and support among Uganda’s diverse kingdoms.
The official presentation of this contribution took place at a ceremony where Buganda Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga handed over the symbolic check to Busoga Kingdom Katukiro (Prime Minister) Dr. Joseph Muwawala at Bulange Mengo, symbolizing the close relationship between the two kingdoms.
The highly anticipated royal wedding will be held at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja city on November 18. The grand event will be presided over by Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, adding a touch of spiritual significance to the celebration. Furthermore, the wedding is expected to have a distinguished guest list, with President Yoweri Museveni anticipated to attend as the chief guest.
In the lead-up to the wedding, various activities and preparations have been scheduled. These include tree planting initiatives, a health camp, and city clean-up activities, all aimed at contributing positively to the occasion and enhancing the wedding’s significance.
The contribution from Buganda Kingdom underscores the spirit of unity and collaboration among Uganda’s different kingdoms, fostering stronger relationships and creating memorable moments for the nation. The royal wedding promises to be a landmark event, uniting different communities and celebrating love and tradition in Uganda.
