Leicester City Football Club announced on Sunday that they have parted ways with their manager, Brendan Rodgers.
This decision came after the team fell into the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday, extending their winless streak to six games. Although Rodgers had led the team to two top-five finishes in the Premier League and secured the club’s first-ever FA Cup win in 2021, the club cited performances and results during the current season as being below their expectations.
In a statement released by the club, Leicester City’s chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, explained that they had believed continuity and stability under Rodgers’ leadership would help the team improve, given their previous accomplishments.
However, since the desired improvement had not materialized and with only ten games left in the season, the board felt compelled to take alternative action to safeguard their Premier League status.
As a result, first-team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell have been appointed to lead the team temporarily.
