On March 31, the Minority leader of the Kenyan National Assembly, Opiyo Wandayi, alleged that President Yoweri Museveni was interfering in Kenyan affairs by aiding President William Ruto in handling the demonstrations by providing pink water to the Kenyan government to suppress protesters.
Wandayi claimed to possess credible intelligence while cautioning the Ugandan government that their involvement would have negative consequences. He explained that Uganda relies heavily on Kenya for the transportation of its goods, with the Kisumu-Busia Highway being the primary route.
The colored water used during the March 30 protests was allegedly supplied by Museveni, according to Wandayi. “He needs to remember that his goods are transported through our land here (Kisumu-Busia) highway,” Wandayi said.
Despite this alleged involvement, Wandayi insisted that the opposition would continue with their anti-government demonstrations, which are expected to escalate on April 3.
