Tekashi 69 is going all out for his upcoming WAPAE music video, shooting it in Africa and the Dominican Republic. The rapper, who also took on the role of video editor, intends to release the video on April 15th.
Despite not being able to travel with a camera crew, he purchased a DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Stabilizer from Best Buy and plans to use it to shoot the whole video on his iPhone.
While in Africa, Tekashi worked with the talented Uganda kids dancing group Hypers Kids Africa, and in the Dominican Republic, he collaborated with Angel Dior, DR’s hottest current dembow artist, who will also make a guest appearance in the video.
WAPAE is the follow-up to Tekashi’s successful Latin single Bori, which features Cuban artist Lenier and was released a week after the rapper suffered an attack at LA Fitness.
Despite this setback, Tekashi persevered and now appears to be stronger than ever. Although he is making a strong push into the Latin music scene, he is also reportedly preparing to make a comeback to hip hop.
