Uganda’s Speaker of Parliament Allocates 13.1 Billion Ugandan Shillings for Office and Activities

The Rt. Hon Anita Annet Among, Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea District Woman MP, has allocated a substantial budget of 13.1 billion Ugandan Shillings for her office and related activities. The funds will be utilized for various purposes including entertainment, staff training, welfare, public relations, advertising, property management, workshops, and more. Additionally, allocations will be made for expenses such as beddings, clothing, footwear, fuel, both domestic and international travel, and donations.

Speaker Among has designated 5.3 billion Shillings for overseas travel, 1.34 billion Shillings for domestic travel, and 2.4 billion Shillings for donations. Furthermore, 1 billion Shillings will be allocated for public relations and advertising, while 804 million Shillings will cover fuel costs. Staff training will receive 495 million Shillings, welfare and entertainment 547 million Shillings, and beddings, clothing, and footwear 143 million Shillings. Additionally, workshops will be allocated 70 million Shillings, ICT services 16.8 million Shillings, and property management 9.6 million Shillings.

The Deputy Speaker, MP Tayebwa of Ruhinda North, has been allocated a budget of 11.3 billion Shillings for similar responsibilities. This includes 4.3 billion Shillings for international travel, 1.79 billion Shillings for donations, 1.3 billion Shillings for domestic travel, and 852 million Shillings for fuel. Additionally, 922 million Shillings will cover advertising and public relations, 455 million Shillings for welfare and entertainment, 495 million Shillings for staff training, and 117 million Shillings for beddings, clothing, and footwear. Workshops will receive 70 million Shillings, while 16 million Shillings will be allocated for ICT services.
