A joint security operation carried out by the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and the Crime Intelligence unit has implicated Deputy Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Kampala North, SP Vincent Irama, as one of the key suspects in the murder of renowned city lawyer Ronnie Mukisa. The 45-year-old victim was employed as a clerk at IBC Advocates in Kampala.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that Ronnie Mukisa was ruthlessly gunned down by heavily armed assailants riding a motorcycle, shaking the local community. Following intense investigations, the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, confirmed on Sunday that four suspects had been apprehended, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.
Enanga reported, “Yesterday, the Joint Security task team of CMI and Crime Intelligence, which has been actively investigating the violent murder of city lawyer Mukisa Ronnie, made a breakthrough and arrested four key suspects who were involved in the planning and killing of the lawyer. Since the tragic murder, our joint task team has worked tirelessly to establish the killers. More details will be shared accordingly.”
Disturbingly, among the apprehended suspects are two members of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF), raising concerns about their alleged involvement in the crime.
