Matugga Healer Killed in Bar Fight Over Shs2,000

May 9, 2025

A Matugga healer killed in a bar fight over just Shs2,000 has left residents of Kito Cell stunned. The victim, 45-year-old Isa Bisobolwa, died from stab wounds in the early hours of Thursday morning. Witnesses say he had spent the night drinking with 18-year-old Richard Mutyaba, who is now the main suspect.

The two men were seen together at Mama Naka bar shortly before the argument began. According to locals, the dispute quickly escalated. Mutyaba allegedly stabbed Bisobolwa twice—once in the neck and once in the stomach—during the fight.

Bystanders tried to save him by rushing him to Wanda Health Centre. However, doctors declared him dead when they arrived. Police transported his body to Mulago Mortuary for a postmortem.

Investigators processed the crime scene and opened a murder case. Mutyaba fled immediately after the attack, and officers are now conducting a manhunt to arrest him. Police urged the public to share any leads that could help in his capture.

Residents of Matugga reacted with disbelief. Many knew both men well and said they often drank and socialized together. Locals are calling for swift justice, especially given how minor the disagreement was.

Community leaders have also warned about the dangers of violent outbursts triggered by alcohol. They called on youth to resolve conflicts peacefully and seek help when tensions rise.

The Matugga healer killed story has reignited conversations around bar violence and youth conflict. Authorities continue to search for Mutyaba as the neighborhood mourns the loss of a well-known local figure.
