TowerCo of Africa Uganda, formerly known as Ubuntu Towers, has revealed its new identity, solidifying its commitment to redefine connectivity in Uganda. The rebranding was officially announced yesterday by TOA Uganda’s CEO, Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot, and Stephane Beuvelet, CEO of TowerCo of Africa.
TowerCo of Africa (TOA), a fully owned subsidiary of AXIAN Telecom, acquired Ubuntu Towers in 2021, a move that marked the company’s dedication to expanding its presence in the Ugandan market. As part of the rebranding process, TowerCo of Africa Uganda now operates with 90% ownership by TOA. With a workforce of over 400 direct and indirect employees, the company takes pride in its commitment to environmentally friendly practices, as 70% of its sites are powered by solar energy, utilizing green infrastructure.
Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot, CEO of TowerCo of Africa Uganda, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s new chapter, stating, “We are thrilled to officially unveil TowerCo of Africa Uganda and embark on this exciting journey.
