Zora Water has entered Ugandan rugby with a major three-year partnership naming it the Official Hydration Partner of Heathens Rugby Football Club. The agreement, signed at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds in Kampala, brings together one of the country’s most successful rugby sides and Napas Agro Processors Uganda Limited, the maker of Zora Packaged Drinking Water.

The deal gives Heathens RFC a structured hydration plan across training sessions, Uganda Rugby Premiership fixtures, Uganda Cup matches, playoffs and Sevens tournaments. It also places Zora Water at the centre of matchday activity at Kyadondo, where the brand will have pitchside visibility and a regular presence during home games. For a club built on high standards, the partnership supports both performance and commercial growth.

Ugandan rugby has continued to attract stronger fan interest, better competition and growing business attention. However, many clubs still need reliable partnerships that directly support player welfare and matchday operations. This agreement stands out because it links a local consumer brand with a practical sporting need. It also creates a wider community benefit, as Zora sales at Kyadondo will contribute to rugby growth at the ground.

Zora Water partnership strengthens Heathens RFC

Under the agreement, Napas Agro Processors will supply Zora Packaged Drinking Water to Heathens RFC to the value of UGX 25 million per year. The support covers the club’s full annual hydration needs and gives players a dependable supply throughout a demanding rugby calendar.

Hydration plays a key role in rugby performance. Players train hard, compete in physical matches and require consistent support before, during and after games. By securing a dedicated partner, Heathens RFC can strengthen preparation standards while reducing pressure on internal club resources.

The agreement also extends beyond the playing group. Zora Packaged Drinking Water will be stocked and sold at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds bar facilities. Proceeds from those sales will benefit both Heathens Rugby Football Club and Kyadondo Rugby Club, making the partnership part of the wider rugby economy at the venue.

A local brand enters sport with purpose

For Napas Agro Processors, the partnership offers a strong route into Ugandan sport. Zora Water is not only gaining advertising space. It is connecting with a committed rugby audience, a respected club and a community known for loyalty and energy.

Heathens RFC Chairman Desire Derekford Mugumisa said the agreement reflects the kind of partnership the club wants to build. He described Zora as a brand joining a community that values excellence, consistency and growth. His remarks positioned the deal as both a sponsorship and a shared investment in rugby development.

Annah Namuli Muzaaya, the CEO and Managing Director of Napas Agro Processors Uganda Limited, also linked the partnership to the company’s values. She said Zora was built on trust, quality and commitment to communities. Through the #ZORAWAY movement, the company hopes to bring vitality and positive energy to rugby and youth culture across Uganda.

Kyadondo backs a new commercial model

Kyadondo Rugby Football Club Treasurer Jeff Okello welcomed the agreement and praised the progress made by Heathens leadership. He said the partnership reflects deliberate club management and raises the standard for what is possible in Ugandan rugby.

That support matters because Kyadondo is more than a match venue. It is one of Uganda’s most recognised rugby homes. A deal that benefits Heathens, the mother club and supporters gives the partnership a stronger foundation than ordinary brand placement.

Zora Water branding will remain visible pitchside at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds and will feature prominently on home match days. The partnership will also run across the social media platforms of Heathens RFC and Zora, helping supporters follow the campaign beyond the stadium.

What the deal means for Ugandan rugby

The partnership arrives at a time when local sport needs stronger business structures. Clubs require dependable partners, better athlete support and more creative ways to keep fans involved. This deal shows how a Ugandan brand can support sport while building its own identity in a meaningful way.

Heathens RFC already holds a strong record across the Uganda Rugby Premiership, Uganda Cup and Uganda Sevens Series. That success makes the club attractive to sponsors, but it also raises expectations. By securing a hydration partner, Heathens are strengthening the systems that support long-term competitiveness.

For Zora, the agreement creates a public association with teamwork, discipline and community pride. For Heathens, it adds practical value and fresh commercial momentum. For Ugandan rugby, the Zora Water partnership offers a model of how clubs and local companies can grow together through support that serves players, supporters and the wider sporting community.
