The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has recently forged a strategic partnership with Emirates Airline aimed at spotlighting Uganda’s rich tapestry of tourism offerings on the global stage.
This collaboration signifies a pivotal stride in Uganda’s endeavor to allure more travelers and exhibit its diverse cultural heritage, awe-inspiring landscapes, and multifaceted wildlife encounters.
As part of this alliance, Emirates Airline will showcase promotional videos showcasing Uganda’s iconic tourist destinations and natural marvels within the cabin on flights between Entebbe and Dubai.
This initiative will afford passengers a tantalizing glimpse into the allure of the “Pearl of Africa,” igniting a desire among travelers to explore Uganda firsthand and partake in its splendor.
Furthermore, in conjunction with UTB, the airline will orchestrate familiarization (FAM) trips to Uganda for influential figures in the tourism and media spheres, including journalists, travel agents, and tour operators, with the aim of catalyzing tourism to Uganda.
Lauding this partnership, Lilly Ajarova, Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board, expressed her enthusiasm for showcasing Uganda’s charm within the expansive Emirates network worldwide.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Emirates Airline to showcase Uganda’s beauty and hospitality to global travelers. This partnership is poised to significantly bolster tourism growth and unlock avenues for economic advancement within the country,” she remarked.
Emirates Airline will extend exclusive benefits to bolster tourism travel to Uganda. Passengers associated with UTB, hoteliers, tour operators, and media personnel booking tourism-related travel through Emirates will be entitled to a 10% discount on their fares, thereby rendering Ugandan adventures more accessible to travelers.
Hoteliers aligning with UTB will also benefit from an additional baggage allowance of 10 kilograms per passenger, facilitating the seamless transportation of essential supplies and amenities.
Moreover, UTB staff members will enjoy a special 20% discount on excess baggage, augmenting their capacity to advocate for and bolster Uganda’s tourism industry.
Badr Abbas, Emirates Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Africa, echoed Lilly Ajarova’s sentiments, stating, “Uganda has been a cornerstone destination within our global network for over two decades, and remains one of Africa’s most cherished destinations.
Through this collaboration with UTB, we reaffirm our commitment to enticing international travelers to experience Uganda’s breathtaking natural landscapes.”
Pearl Kakooza, Chairperson of UTB, expressed her delight at this development, which promises to amplify the visibility of Uganda’s tourism treasures.
