In a recent incident at Kajjansi Airfield along the Kampala-Entebbe road, an aircraft operated by BAR Aviation crashed shortly after takeoff, but the swift response of rescue teams ensured the safety of the crew members on board. The aircraft, with flight registration No. 5X-RBR, was en route from Kajjansi to Mweya-Kasese when it encountered difficulties.

The crew members, Lt Dagalious Owino and Joel Kanguli, sustained injuries in the crash. The co-pilot injured his right hand, while the pilot was rendered unconscious. However, the dedicated airfield workers wasted no time in rescuing the pilots from the wreckage and providing immediate first aid.

Emergency services were immediately contacted, and an ambulance from Memorial Hospital quickly arrived at the scene to transport the injured individuals for further medical attention. Fortunately, despite the severity of the incident, there were no reported casualties.

Authorities, including a team from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Ministry of Works and Transport, promptly initiated investigations to determine the cause of the crash. The wreckage of the aircraft was inspected to gather crucial information that will guide the ongoing investigation.

BAR Aviation, the aviation operator, expressed its cooperation with the aviation authority in determining the cause of the incident. They emphasized that there were no passengers on board the aircraft during the flight, and all crew members involved in the crash were safe.

The precise cause of the incident is yet to be determined, and the investigation is still underway. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of swift and effective rescue efforts in mitigating the impact of aviation accidents. It also highlights the significance of thorough investigations to identify potential factors that may have contributed to such incidents, ultimately enhancing aviation safety in the future.
