During the discussion, Minister Amongi provided an overview of various government programs implemented to empower women, youth, and other vulnerable groups in Uganda. She emphasized the government’s focus on economic empowerment, education, skill development, and the provision of tools to enable these individuals to initiate income-generating activities. The minister highlighted the importance of empowering these groups to enhance their socio-economic well-being.
The discussion also touched upon the critical issue of youth employment. Both parties explored potential avenues for bilateral cooperation, specifically in the areas of vocational training, exchange visits, and cultural collaboration. These initiatives aim to strengthen ties between Uganda and Germany while promoting skill development and cultural exchange opportunities for the youth.
As a follow-up to the productive discussions, Minister Amongi extended an invitation to Hon. Oliver Schenk to visit Germany in September. The purpose of this visit will be to execute agreements in the identified areas of cooperation. This planned visit demonstrates the commitment of both nations to translating their shared interests into concrete actions for the benefit of their respective populations.
