The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, is in the midst of a dispute with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) over the compensation she provided to offset the iron sheets she received in the Karamoja iron sheets scandal.
The Speaker paid for 500 iron sheets to be delivered to the OPM’s stores, but they were never delivered. The Speaker dispatched a team to the OPM to retrieve a letter authorising a company to deliver the iron sheets, which had mysteriously gone missing.
The team then physically delivered the letter to the company, which promised to deliver the iron sheets the following day(Thursday 13). The Speaker, along with Vice President Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, and 22 ministers, has been implicated in the scandal.
