On Thursday, President Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to meet with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus to discuss the recently passed Anti-Homosexuality bill of 2023, along with other issues. The meeting will take place at 2:00 pm at State House Entebbe, according to a statement by the caucus chairperson, Denis Obua.
One of the primary purposes of the meeting is to discuss the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, 2023, which was passed by Parliament last month. If signed into law, the bill would criminalize homosexual activities. However, the international community has called on Museveni not to sign the bill, and the US government has warned of potential economic sanctions if it is enacted.

The European Union has also expressed opposition to the bill, stating that criminalizing homosexuality is contrary to international human rights law.
Museveni, on the other hand, has taken a different stance, stating that it is wrong for Western countries to impose homosexuality on Africans and that it is a matter of cultural values. He has also indicated that the government will continue to hold discussions on the matter.
One of the most controversial provisions of the bill is the death penalty for individuals involved in aggravated homosexuality. Additionally, the legislation criminalizes the promotion of homosexuality and could result in a prison sentence of up to 20 years for anyone advocating for LGBTQ rights or sponsoring organizations that promote homosexuality.
