Bugolobi and Jinja Road Police are currently conducting an investigation into a heartbreaking shooting incident that resulted in the loss of a life. On the evening of July 28, 2023, a distressing altercation occurred between a security guard identified as AIJUKA ARODE, employed by Security Plus Ltd, and a 48-year-old businesswoman named Mutesi Zainabu, who operated a drinks and merchandise store within the premises of Bugolobi Market.

During the unfortunate confrontation, the security guard allegedly advanced approximately three meters and discharged a single shot at the store, where the victim was present. As a result, Mutesi Zainabu suffered critical injuries and was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Tragically, despite all efforts, she succumbed to her injuries, and her body was respectfully taken to City Mortuary Mulago for Postmortem examination.

Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities found that the suspect had fled with his rifle, raising concerns about his whereabouts. However, through determined efforts, the police were successful in apprehending the suspect the following morning. Currently, AIJUKA ARODE is detained at Jinja Road Police station, and the suspected murder weapon has been recovered as evidence in the case.

The Bugolobi and Jinja Road Police are urging anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
