Three Arrested for Vandalizing Government Quarantine Project in Nakapiripirit

Security operatives in Nakapiripirit District have arrested three individuals suspected of vandalizing the Government Holding and Quarantine Production Centre Project in Kagata Village, Namalu Sub-County.

The suspects, Angela Francis, Jeremiah Lomokol, and Paul Losike, were caught in possession of stolen materials, including barbed wire, dip chain links, a span dipstick, and a jerrycan, all valued at Shs300,000.

Community Tip-Off Leads to Arrest

A concerned community member tipped off authorities about the vandalism, prompting security teams to act swiftly.

Namalu Sub-county GISO, Williams Napakori Muya, confirmed the arrests, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in protecting public resources.

“We appreciate the community for their cooperation in protecting public projects,” said Karamoja Police Spokesperson, IP Mike Longole.

Authorities Condemn Vandalism

Police officials condemned the act, noting that vandalism undermines development efforts and pledged strict legal action against offenders.

The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.
