MBARARA — Four students from Ntare School narrowly escaped death on Sunday after being attacked by fellow learners over alleged involvement in homosexual acts.

Head teacher Saul Rwamporo confirmed the incident, explaining that tensions erupted when some students accused their peers of engaging in same-sex behavior. “They wanted to beat them. Two boys ran away, and two were saved by the administration. Even those who ran away were caught, and one was injured but taken to hospital,” he said.

According to school officials, two of the accused were rescued by administrators, while the other two fled the premises before being apprehended. The situation quickly escalated, leading to a violent strike by angry students, who also turned against the head prefect.

The rioters accused the head prefect of knowing other students allegedly involved in homosexual activity and concealing their identities. In the chaos, sections of the administration block and dormitories were vandalized.

The school administration called in police to restore order and prevent further violence. Reports indicate that Ntare School has faced similar cases since 2023, with concerns that the situation is worsening.

This latest incident has sparked renewed debate on discipline, student safety, and the handling of sensitive social issues in Ugandan schools.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flAFYT_pNHc
