UBOS Set to Release Key 2023/2024 Uganda Household Survey Findings
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is today releasing results from the 2023/2024 Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS)—a vital report aimed at informing the country’s development agenda.
According to UBOS Executive Director Dr. Chris Mukiza, the survey, conducted between March 2023 and February 2024, is the eighth in a national series focused on evaluating the socio-economic status of Ugandan households.
Critical Data for National Planning
Dr. Mukiza confirmed that data analysis has been completed and public dissemination will begin at 10:00 am. The report includes in-depth statistics on poverty levels, household income, education, health, labor markets, and housing conditions—essential metrics for shaping Uganda’s policy and planning frameworks.
The survey plays a pivotal role in tracking progress under Vision 2040 and National Development Plan IV, both of which aim to steer the country toward inclusive economic transformation.
Uganda’s Growing, Youthful Population
The release comes at a time when Uganda’s population is nearing 48 million, growing at an average 3.3% annually. Notably, over 75% of the population is under 30, highlighting the urgent need for data-driven policies to address youth employment, education access, and urban development.
UBOS emphasizes that this year’s report will help identify living condition trends and guide both public and private sector strategies for poverty reduction and sustainable development.
What to Expect:
The newly released data is expected to shape key government initiatives, influence donor programs, and inform private sector investments aimed at improving livelihoods across Uganda.
